Journey 10: Cornwall (Part 2) Truro, Porthtowan, Carne and Chapel Porth

Having embarked upon my second journey in this series of ten to Cornwall last October, I simply could not resist a second adventure to close out this part of my 40th birthday celebrations for my tenth and final journey. Family, Food, Friendship, Ale and wonderful beaches were all key components to this final journey in the series, best depicted I think with this rather wonderful image of Matt, Tim and myself supping Cornish Ale from these Tankards in our friends wonderful garden as we lite a BBQ and celebrated a great few days having spent that afternoon at the simply stunning Chapel Porth Beach and cliff top walk.

Last October we saw the wonders of Truro, Falmouth, Gwithian and Godrevy. This time we had the joys of again setting out each day from our friends house just outside of Truro and each time discovering some truly stunning beaches and scenery. It was such a fitting and stunning way to close out my journeys part of this overall celebration. To begin this series with a barefoot walk on a Norfolk beach with my Sister and to end the series with family and friends over 4 fabulous days in Cornwall was an utter delight.

Cornwall is rich in its beauty and it was such a treat to end this flurry of three journeys in a week to Winchester/Steep for the Poetry day, Nottingham for the Nomad Weekend and Cornwall with Family and Friends. The photos say it all really. Here’s to being 40, here’s to ten journeys and this wonderful finale. I am thankful, and now lost for any more words. These images and the experience this week will live long in the memory.

Porthtowan – Late Afternoon and Sunset

Carne – Afternoon games and evening BBQ

Chapel Porth – Afternoon Cream Tea and Cliff Walk
